Transparent workflow and a speedy production flow are the goals we set ourselves. Starting when we assemble and/or start to work with your data, our equipment, our skills and our processes are geared to provide prime printed results. For this, we depend on digital workflow which permits you to follow the entire process chain and if necessary to step in and made corrections.
Faulty data cost time and money. At Himmer, you can be sure that qualified employees are handling the pre-press stage. We have also invested in the most modern equipment to keep minimize defects and avoid costly misprints.
Himmer. Quality control, right from the very start.
Digital pre-press state with no losses. But with formats
Give us what you have; we'll turn it into what you want. We digitalize all components of an order including films. Our pre-press stage not only consists of the most modern technology, but also the know-how to turn your ideas into press-ready layouts.
Either you or we prepare smooth-edged PDF files. After release of the individual pages, we compose print sheets. After release of the stand proof, we expose the print plate directly and conduct the print run. All setting data for the print run from the pre-press stage is automatically transferred and this saves you time and money.
As a rule, print jobs under time pressure require fast, early and professional support. We will be happy to support you in the preparation of necessary data and master copies. Our proven layout and repro department provides a broad range of possibilities: We offer layout, scanning (including re-digitalization), PDF generation, proofing and much more.

Zero tolerance when it comes to colour-true work
Your colour wishes are our command. Thanks to our reliable Color management, we can guarantee that you get exactly the colours you want. At Himmer, true colour production is the result of clearly defined processing steps. Visual and metrological controls continually guarantee production security. That applies both to the colours and to the various substrate materials used in the printing process.
Print-sheet imposition
Imposition is one of the most important processing steps of the printing preparation. At this stage, we create the prerequisite for an efficient, flexible and secure workflow. Permanent visual inspection and the optional output of a stand proof increase process reliability substantially. Himmer. Flexible and secure workflow.
From form proof to imprimatur
With the increase in digitalization in the pre-press stage, the form proof is an essential component of quality control.
Prior to plate exposure and before the printing press is turned on, the form proof permits one „last“ quality check.
Unlike the colour proof, the form proof is not true colour. It serves rather to monitor the layout and the state of the pages on the print sheet.
- The make-up of the pages
- The state of the pages
- The first cut
- Fonts and completeness of contents.
If you are satisfied, the next steps can then follow: the imprimatur, your certification of readiness for press, and finally the printing process.
Exposure with no loss of dots
We've been working computer-to-plate since 1997. This innovative technique makes the use of „film material“ superfluous. By direct imaging of the printing plate with the pre-press data, we achieve not only higher productivity, but with the higher automation level, we also achieve overall quality assurance.
Computer-to-plate is a prerequisite for the production of high-quality printed material, since the marginal definition of the matrix dots is higher, and smaller matrix dots can be produced. Another advantage is a reduction of mechanical influences on the printing plate, such as defective exposures, dust and scratches. Virtually the only remaining possible error source is faulty data. To limit this to a minimum, we depend on a completely digital workflow.
We now use the Magnus VLF, the fastest fully automatic plate setter for large formats. It provides imaging of fifteen 2050 x 1510 mm plates per hour, with 2400dpi.
In the NELA auto-register V, the printing plates are aligned exactly on the register by means of imprinted register marks via a CCD system, using two video cameras. The printing plate register perforation is carried out in conclusion.
